米IBM、PC事業をLenovoに売却
IBM PC部門売却は正式に発表になったようです。
IBMのパソコンに絡んだ売却というと思いつくのはレックスマーク。
日本だと「安売りプリンタ」みたいな印象ですが世界的にはHPと
同様トップグループのシェアを持っているはずです。
このレックスマーク、私の記憶が確かなら元々はIBMのプリンター
部門だと記憶しています。この場合は売却ではなく分社化という点が
今回の話と違うのでしょうか。
レックスマークは（日本はともかく）世界的に見ると成功した例、
かもしれません。同じように例えIBMと切り離されても今までの
Think Padのイメージ、競争力を持ち続ける事が出来るのか。
中国企業が世界相手の企業を買収するとか、そもそもパソコン事業の買収
そのものに否定的な意見もあるので、しばらくは注目したいです。
さて、ノートパソコンというと日本IBMですがどうなるんでしょうか。
いっその事高品質なノートパソコンを求める層を対象に別会社を
起こしてもらった方が日本の多くのThinkPadユーザは嬉しいだろうなぁ。
それだとチャンドラの夢よもう一度になりそうで、きびしいかなぁ。
